Golden State Bears have announced the
annual Bear Frenzy weekend (in August) this year was among - if not THE - most
successful in its 13-year long history.
$803 was raised for charity, thanks
to raffle sales by stepping down Mr. Golden State Bear and Cub, Paul and
Larry, and the contestants for this year’s title. Also, Rich Adamson
conducted an auction for a weekend in Las Vegas, which included hotel stay at
Blue
Moon Resort
in Las Vegas and tickets to
Big Horn Gay Rodeo in Las Vegas. The new
Mr. Golden State Bear is Fred Moody, who received a stay at the
Mark Twain Hotel
in San Francisco, and Mr. Cub is Joel Plata. Both
also received dinner certificates from
Tacos Marquitos
in Fresno. Both also indicated they would compete in
International Bear Rendezvous in San Francisco in February.

Fred received the total
overall score and was announced Mr. Bear, and the judges decided the
title of Mr. Cub should go to the contestant who came in 2nd place -
Joel. They beat out the other two contestants Michael Dias (far left)
